  • Title: Fallen Giant
  • State/Province/Region: California
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Four Fireplaces, Avenue of the giants
  • Nearest Town: Weott
  • Brief Directions: Take HWY 101 north from San Francisco to the Weott exit. Head downhill until you reach the old hwy 101, now called the "Avenue of the Giants". Turn right(north). 100 feet before the freeway overpass turn left down a small paved road and your there. Parking and restroom less than 1/4 mile from the main road.
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: In the heart of the largest old growth Redwood forest, the magic is all around. Good luck keeping your eyes on the road. Photo ops are everywhere. This one happened to be after a shoot of the Four Fireplaces on the way back to the car. Sometimes the best image is the one you weren't planning to take.
