Learning To Surf

  • Title: Learning To Surf
  • State/Province/Region: California
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: San Luis Obispo County
  • Nearest Town: Avila
  • Brief Directions: Three miles east of Highway 101 south of San Luis Obispo, California.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Description: My boys learning to surf provided some interesting photo fodder as they learned by trial and error where the balance point was on the surf board. Repeated pearl diving created interesting windows of water for me while I waded in the surf with my 400mm telephoto to capture the action.

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.
