  • Nearest Town: None...seriously.
  • Brief Directions: Head west on 58 from I-5 or east 0n 58 from U.S. 101. About an hour later, turn south on Soda Lake Rd.
  • Notes: This is a very desolate area. Abundant wildlife, including eagles and antelope and elk. Wildflowers in spring can't be matched. Winters are stark but interesting possibliities as the surrounding mountains are often capped with snow. Large alkaline lake suppports numerous species of wildlife. Very hot in summer.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Wideangle for landscapes, telephoto for wildlife.
