Sand Dunes To Snow Drifts

  • Title: Sand Dunes To Snow Drifts
  • State/Province/Region: Colorado
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Great Dunes National Park
  • Nearest Town: Alamosa, Colorado
  • Brief Directions: Great Dunes NP is located approximately 35 miles north of Alamosa in south central Colorado.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: Great Dunes National Park is not nearly as widely known as Yellowstone, Yosemite, Death Valley and others making it a great place to get photos of nature instead of shoulder to shoulder tourists. The dunes are nestled along the wester slopes of the Sangre de Cristo range in the San Luis Valley in south central Colorado. Prevailing winds from the southwest drop the dust and sand they are carrying as they rise to pass over the mountains. Thanks Brian! I liked this point of view from the water. Will have a couple more different lighthouses from the water in a couple of days. I'm excitedly (as I'm sure many here on O.P. are) now...

Since you are using your imagination, I see a dove in front of you.
