Crystal Mill, White River National Forest

  • Title: Crystal Mill, White River National Forest
  • State/Province/Region: Colorado
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Town: Marble
  • Description: The mill sits six miles out on a 4WD-only road. It's narrow, rocky, and has these nice drop-offs into the river below, and you can see wreckage down there...fresh wreckage. (Not that this was mentioned to me until After I'd successfully gotten us to the mill and back). To be honest, I hate this road so much that we fully intended to hike the twelve miles round trip, but the pouring rain made driving seem like a lesser evil. Once there, we sat in the car for an hour, hoping that the weather would improve enough to make the drive out there worthwhile, and luckily, patience paid off!

perfect balance between shadow and light, as well as the plant's rhythm in the scene.

Was just in the area of Valley Park, Fenton, and Hillsboro Missiouri in November before the storm. Got to love the trees, and your image tells the story perfectly...
