Limbic Dawn Iii

  • Title: Limbic Dawn Iii
  • State/Province/Region: Connecticut
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Hawks Table Nature Preserve
  • Nearest Town: Scotland
  • Description: Early mornings during March in New England provide a narrow window when if I squint or "look" with one eye covered, I am rewarded with "seeing the forest for the trees" moments. Being aware and accepting the foreground but working the aperture, exposure and depth of field manually is the method used here to build the painting before my eyes without allowing my brain or camera do the processing of "what I should see" for me. My Limbic series references the area of our brain said to control or modulate our emotions and memory. I have a strong sense as I grow old that there is a subtle consciousness made up of all these memories that draws and paints what it is I see in your images or mine with each new view. The wonderful meditations of Photography.

Thanks Paul and Lorenzo! This is one of those scenes that a camera will never do justice to-there was nothing like being there.
