Dangerous Encounter

  • Title: Dangerous Encounter
  • State/Province/Region: Florida
  • Country: United States
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: We we were watching a family of raccoons foraging for food in the shallow water when they encountered this water snake. As we watched with trepidation the mother approached the snake several times to scare it off but in the end backed off and contined on its way with its two youngsters in tow. The picture captures the moment but not the excitement of watching nature unfold right before our eyes. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Naples Florida, 1-19-13.

Thank you, Sandra. I don't blame you for missing Colorado. I could never leave!

Snorri, I could tell this was Iceland from the clouds. I lived there 47 years ago yet I still remember the beauty of the sky. Congrats on your awards.

This one literally took my breath away. I'm from CO, but haven't been there for a while, yet my heart is instinctively drawn to pictures of it. This is stunning. Thank you for this Joseph.
