King Of The Everglades

  • Title: King Of The Everglades
  • State/Province/Region: Florida
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Big Cypress National Preserve
  • Nearest Town: Miami
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: American Alligator, Big Cypress National Preserve about 40 miles west of Miami, 2-1-13. We traveled to the heart of the 730,000 acre estuary to visit photographer Clyde Butcher's "Big Cypress" black & white photo gallery. Butcher known for his Ansel Adams like work captures many of his stunning images of the Everglades and Big Cypress Preserve with a 12" x 20" film negative camera. His work has brought great attention to the importance of preserving and protecting our ever shrinking wetlands and intertidal estuaries. Check him out online. You will see why the work of one man can help save this planet, one photograph at a time!
