Hawaiian Fire Dance

  • Title: Hawaiian Fire Dance
  • State/Province/Region: Hawaii
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Western Side of Big Island Hawaii
  • Nearest Town: Kona
  • Brief Directions: ISO 3200 24mm 1/125 at f/4.5
  • Notes: It all started with great luck in getting seated in the front row of this fire dance show. A very popular event but getting shots as the sun goes down and the fire comes out requires both fast shutter and high ISO. Caught this dancer with only his fire as the light for the subject. I have a shot right after this with him actually with the fire in his mouth but thought this one was more dramatic.
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: Hawaiian dancer using fire in his performance
  • Gear: Cannon 7D

Thank you, Sandra. I don't blame you for missing Colorado. I could never leave!

Snorri, I could tell this was Iceland from the clouds. I lived there 47 years ago yet I still remember the beauty of the sky. Congrats on your awards.

This one literally took my breath away. I'm from CO, but haven't been there for a while, yet my heart is instinctively drawn to pictures of it. This is stunning. Thank you for this Joseph.
