  • Title: Haleakala Milky Way
  • State/Province/Region: Hawaii
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Haleakala National Park, Maui
  • Nearest Town: Kehei, Maui
  • Brief Directions: Go to the top of Maui. When you can't go any higher, shoot the sky!
  • GPS Longitude: 156.2576
  • GPS Latitude: 20.7133
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Description: 17 image (verticals) panorama of the Milky Way taken on top of Mount Haleakala in Maui, 9pm, June 28, 2013, 10,023 feet elevation. Each image was taken at 25 seconds, 2.8, 24mm, and 3200 ISO. The building in the center is the National Park visitors center. My daugher and a friend are standing on the hill to the left. I was jumping up and down trying to stop shivering in the 50 degrees, 25 mph windy conditions. Brrrrrrr!

This looks like a winner. A real wall hanger.

Stunning shot Terry. Love the clouds and drama they bring to the picture. Lorenzo

Thanks Laura, really appreciate it. I have printed it large several times, and really shines. We'll see!
