  • State/Province/Region: Hawaii
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Koolau Mountains
  • Nearest Town: Kaneohe

  • Description: I learned about the gardens while visiting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' office at Fort DeRussy. It was built in conjunction with a dam project designed to prevent flooding. The gardens are seperated into distinct areas that feature indigenous plants from Hawai'i, Africa, Polynesia, Phillipines, Sri Lanka, India, Melanesia, Malaysia and tropical America. There is also a man-made lake, fed by the dam, on the territory.

Lovely composition of greenery and water motion, Alena. I especially like the textured waterfall curtain effect you have captured.
