Past & Future

  • Title: Past & Future
  • State/Province/Region: Illinois
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Rt 66
  • Nearest Town: Dwight, IL
  • Brief Directions: Shot with lens set at 12mm f/16, shutter speeds 1/160, 1/640, & 1/2500 @ ISO 2000
  • Notes: Hand held HDR. Had to use very fast shutter to try and freeze the blade of the windmill. The deghosting feature in Photomatix was able to blend the little I was off. Wanted HDR to make the blue sky pop and contrast the yellow/red sunlight.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: Saw the windmills from old Rt 66 in central IL. Thought it would be cool if I could get an old barn an a windmill in the same image. Drove down a couple of farm roads until I found this one. The dilapidated barn made it perfect!
  • Gear: Canon 7D, Tokina 12-24mm lens

I like the realism of your image. So many now are not realistic. The composition is great and just the right amount of post processing. Beautiful.

Beautiful rich colors Carla! Always love seascape images! Very nice blend of the sand/rocks/water!

Thank you kindly Laura! I'm sorry for not responding sooner, as it's hard to get to a computer right now. I always enjoy the Spring with wonderful colors. I look forward to sharing some new Spring...

Holly Molly that is just beautiful. That needs to be on the cover of OP magazine. Probably the most awesome image I have seen on here to date.
