Lighthouse Acadia

  • Title: Lighthouse Acadia
  • State/Province/Region: Maine
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Acadia NP
  • Nearest Town: Bar Harbor
  • Notes: Combination of two shots with different exposure settings. The first photo foreground was dark with the sun properly exposed. The second photo foreground was visible but the sun and sky was blown out. Used photoshop to merge the photos. Need to be careful on slippery rocks and standing the tripod on the rocks are tricky too.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Stood on the rocky coast near Acadia NP. Happened to have a bird flew toward the sun. Waited for the lighhouse light to turn directly to the camera.
  • Gear: Canon20D

Thanks Laura!! I walked into this little slot canyon till it was completely dark and thought I'd sort of found nothing much…then turned around and saw THIS. I was gem for sure.

Wow, just beautiful! The light is perfect and I love the curve of the tree and the lines of the canyon wall.
