  • Brief Directions: Medford is located about 12 miles north of Boston via Rte 93. Mystic Valley Parkway is part of Rte 16 that follows the historic Mystic River that channels into the lower and upper lake. This photo location is part of the upper lake area.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Old maple tree that protects a wild life pond shadowed by a large lake. The area is a favorite place for a quiet walk to view fall color and see resident ducks, geese, owls and native birds of many different species. This shot was positioned to take advantage of the setting sun and the backlite to accent the expanse of the tree.
