Description: I hiked out to an area known as Blackrocks in Presque Isle park during a recent winter storm to snap some photos. In the summer this is a popular place to swim and jump off the rocks. The day this photo was taken the lake was very different from the calm summer days!! A strong winter wind made the short hike from the parking lot difficult, but I made it and luckily the Blackrocks cove was sheltered enough that my tripod didn't blow over. At 15-20 feet, some of the largest waves I've seen on Lake Superior were crashing on the rocks this day!
