Warm Winter Welcome

  • Title: Warm Winter Welcome
  • State/Province/Region: Minnesota
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Boundary Water Canoe Area
  • Nearest Town: Duluth
  • Brief Directions: Picture taken right off the board walk at the light house in Duluth. Duluth is located north of Minneapolis Minnesota. Way up in the Boundary Water Canoe area.
  • Notes: We were moving back to Minnesota after retiring from 26 years in the Air Force looking for houses in Duluth. The morning after we arrived we were greeted by this spectacular sunrise welcoming us home. Even the locals said it was one of the most spectacular sunrises they had seen.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: This picture was taken right off the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth on the boardwalk. It was aken in auto mode on my Cannon G11. I just was in the right place at the right time. It was one of my first experiences taking outdoor scenic photographs. I was so excited it was hard just to keep my hands steady. I am new to photography and am looking foward to learning all about it. .

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.

Very interesting post Donna and Mike on Moose/Antlers. Not sure what may have caused the change in antlers, but pretty sure the one will end up looking like one of these in a few years.
