  • Title: Melter Sandstone
  • State/Province/Region: Nevada
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Valley of Fire State Park
  • Nearest Town: Las Vegas
  • Brief Directions: The Valley of Fire is about 45 min from the lights of Las Vegas on Rt-15 North.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: This area is not seen from the road. After a short hile up s steep incline a world of melted sandstone appears before you. One can only imagine what happened here thousands upon thousands of years ago. I come to Valley of Fire 2-3 times a month and the area changes dramatically with the light. Have never seen this scene published or displayed anywhere ever.
