Fire And Ice

  • Title: Fire And Ice
  • State/Province/Region: New Mexico
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Bosque Del apache
  • Nearest Town: Socorro
  • Brief Directions: 1 &1/2 hr south of Albuquerque New Mexico at Bosque del Apache.
  • Notes: none
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Sandhill Cranes and Canada geese winter at Bosque del Apache spending the nights in the ponds. This image was taken on an unseasonably cold Nov morning when the ponds still had lots of water in them. The unusual cold and the large amount of water caused a lot of fog/mist to rise in the morning as the sun was coming up..creating the intense color surrounding the cranes.

Thanks Laura!! I walked into this little slot canyon till it was completely dark and thought I'd sort of found nothing much…then turned around and saw THIS. I was gem for sure.

Wow, just beautiful! The light is perfect and I love the curve of the tree and the lines of the canyon wall.
