Brief Directions: The Sandstone Bluff overlook is an excellent formation that is beautiful by itself but also overlooks the lava fields of the El Malpais National Monument and a great view of Mt. Taylor in the Cibola National Forest.
Notes: Take Hwy 117 south from I-40 towards Quemado for approximately 10 miles, Entrance is on the right just south of the visitor center.
Best Season: Autumn
Gear: Non-slip shoes or boots
