Mouth Of The Siuslaw River, Winter Storm

  • Title: Mouth Of The Siuslaw River, Winter Storm
  • State/Province/Region: Oregon
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Central Oregon Coast
  • Nearest Town: Florence
  • Brief Directions: From Hwy 101 in Florence, take Rhododendron Drive to the north jetty access to the mouth of the Siuslaw River. The scenic overlook is before the drive down the hill to the parking lot at the mouth of the river.
  • Notes: Go in winter for the best photography opportunities! Summer is for tourists and a lot of "average" photographs. The dramatic light happens in winter.
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Description: The intense winter storm broke just long enough at sunset to allow for this photo to be taken just before a tremedous thunderstorm with driving winds and hail shut down all hope of more photography.
  • Gear: Canon EOS 3; 28-135 IS
