  • Brief Directions: From Sisters head southwest on Hwy 242 to the summit of McKenzie Pass. Continue approximately 5.5 miles beyond the Dee Wright Observatory to the Scott Lk. turn off. Travel another mile to the parking and picnic area.
  • Notes: This road is subject to seasonal closures in Winter. From the snow gate one would have to travel via other means than vehicle to this area. From the gate it is approximately 14 miles to the lake. When traveling in this area at any time be prepared to spend the night. Always carry appropriate gear for in climate weather.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Gear: Tripod, remote shutter release, asst. filters.
