Brief Directions: From Packwood take Route 12 east to 123, go north and enter Mt. Rainier National Park at the Stevens Canyon Entrance, continue on 123 and then go north on 410, go left at the White River Entrance and continue to the Sunrise Visitor Center. Hike up about a mile, and on the right you will see magnificent views of the Tatoosh Mountains. On the left you will see Mt. Rainier, sometimes shrouded by clouds.
Notes: Given the altitude the air is a bit thin up here. Those with acrophobia will be uncomfortable, but the views are absolutely spectacular.
Best Season: Autumn
Gear: All waether clothing, good hiking shoes, and tripod.
