Chipmunk Peanut Chew

  • Title: Chipmunk Peanut Chew
  • State/Province/Region: Pennsylvania
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Parker Dam State Park
  • Nearest Town: Clearfield
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: This chipmunk kept invading our campsite one October weekend. Our little dog was fasinated by its antics, watching it contently from a camp chair all afternoon. This chipmunk truly loved this generic bag of whole peanuts still in the shell. It would come in stuff one peanut in one side of his pouch and a second peanut on the other side, run off, evidently hiding his stash of peanuts because it wasn't too long before he came back for more. This shot reminded me of a person with a wad of tobacco in his cheek.

Thanks Laura!! I walked into this little slot canyon till it was completely dark and thought I'd sort of found nothing much…then turned around and saw THIS. I was gem for sure.

Wow, just beautiful! The light is perfect and I love the curve of the tree and the lines of the canyon wall.
