Description: The next door neighbor had a large pin oak cut down the year before. This Pileated Woodpecker started to frequent the stump around 4-5 PM almost everyday for a few weeks this oast summer. It is unual to see this in a town backyard. Evidently the insect larvae in the stump was very inticing!

whoa........... Gorgeous portrait. I've never seen a reddish egret. I'm about to move to Lakeland, FLA. this Summer. I hope to see one of these beauties first hand. So sad to know this one cannot...
