Bushkill Falls

  • Title: Bushkill Falls
  • State/Province/Region: Pennsylvania
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: US 209
  • Nearest Town: Bushkill
  • Brief Directions: Take 209 N out of Bushkill, and follow signs from Bushkill Road to the falls themselves.
  • Notes: Early morning steam rises from a fresh snow, and a mighty and mammoth series of falls flows steadily under sporadic sheets of ice choking the surface of Little Bushkill Creek. Formed during the Devonian period, these 350 million year old slides and veils shaded on both sides with high cliffs and walls, present us with a unique view of how erosion is nature's most powerful force.
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Gear: Waterproof boots, dust cloth for lens, many layers of warm cloth

Thanks Laura!! I walked into this little slot canyon till it was completely dark and thought I'd sort of found nothing much…then turned around and saw THIS. I was gem for sure.

Wow, just beautiful! The light is perfect and I love the curve of the tree and the lines of the canyon wall.
