  • Title: Dunes At Dawn
  • State/Province/Region: South Carolina
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Savannah
  • Nearest Town: Bluffton
  • Brief Directions: Easy driving distance from Savannah. I-95 to 278 to Hilton Head Island.
  • Notes: As is true with most other scenic locations, the beach and sky photograph best in pre-dawn and post-sunset light. This is especially true of Hilton Head Island, if for any other reason to avoid the crowds of tourists that fill the beach throughout most of the day.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Pre-dawn sky over the Atlantic from the dunes and beach on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
  • Gear: Canon 1D Mark III, Canon 28-70mm f2.8 L, Kirk ballhead, Bogen 3021 tripod, cable release

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.

Very interesting post Donna and Mike on Moose/Antlers. Not sure what may have caused the change in antlers, but pretty sure the one will end up looking like one of these in a few years.
