Ferns On Rocks.

  • Title: Ferns On Rocks.
  • State/Province/Region: Tennessee
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Horse Creek Recreation Area
  • Nearest Town: Greeneville
  • Brief Directions: Take highway 107 from Greeneville, look for signs to Horse Creek Recreation Area. It is a right turn, take horse creek park rd to the entrance.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: As I was walking back down the trail from shooting waterfalls on Horse Creek I came upon these small ferns that seemed to cascade over the rocks. I realized as I contemplated the contrast of the green of the fronds with the grays and browns of the background, this reminded me of the cascading of water in a small waterfall. TYhat is how I tried to portray the scene.

Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.

Very interesting post Donna and Mike on Moose/Antlers. Not sure what may have caused the change in antlers, but pretty sure the one will end up looking like one of these in a few years.
