Smoky Mountain Dawn

  • Title: Smoky Mountain Dawn
  • State/Province/Region: Tennessee
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Great Smoky Mountain National Park
  • Nearest Town: Pigeon Forge, Tn
  • Notes: ISO set @ 200, F5.6 @ 1/125 sec. Slight cropping and a small bit of contrast enhancement in Fast Stone Image Viewing Program.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Image was taken during our annual trip to the Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg Tn Area of the Smoky Mountains. Early one morning, as the sun was trying to break thru the night storm, the scene just presented itself as a very peaceful photo opportunity. A half hour later, the fog was gone. Autumn is the most colorful season, but anytime of the year is a Special Treat.

Thank you kindly Laura! It's an area I really enjoy photographing called "Rim Of The World"! I enjoyed your gallery also, with the beautiful images of La Jolla Reefs/North County~ Love that area!!!

Thanks Alena and David! I took a lot of shots of this landscape, but placing a person in the shot imparted the sense of amazement and exhilaration I was trying to capture. Merry Christmas!
