Brief Directions: From Johnson City take FM2766 East about 10 miles to the park entrance.
Notes: This shot of the falls was taken in the late afternoon. I'm always surprised when returning to this area. The river and the falls never look the same. This ever changing landscape of stone & water continue to be one of my favorite Texas locations to shoot.
Best Season: Spring
Description: Pedernales Falls State Park is located in the Texas Hill Country Region about an hour West of Austin. The park is over 5000 acres with many miles of hiking trails. The Pedernales River is a refreshing place to cool off in the summer and provides many photo opportunities. The parks namesake falls are the main attraction, yet other parts of the river and the cypress trees that line it's banks are also favorite subjects for photography.
