  • Brief Directions: Balanced Rock can be reached by traveling East from Presidio, Tx. or South from Marathon, Tx. Take Grapevine Road about 6 miles to trailhead. a moderate hike and ashort climb up the montain takes you to "Balanced Rock". Located in Big Bend National Park in Southwest Texas.

  • Description: "Balanced Rock" is a natural occuring formation caused by an uplift in the earth's surface. Best photographed at sunrise to get the warm ray's on the colorful rocks.

    This one literally took my breath away. I'm from CO, but haven't been there for a while, yet my heart is instinctively drawn to pictures of it. This is stunning. Thank you for this Joseph.
