Corona Arch Highline

  • Title: Corona Arch Highline
  • State/Province/Region: Utah
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Moab
  • Nearest Town: Moab
  • Brief Directions: From Moab follow Route 191 north. Cross the Colorado River and continue 1.4 miles until you see the sign for State Route 279. Turn left (west) onto this road and follow it just above 10 miles until you see the sign for Corona Arch Trailhead on the right. A 1.3 mile trail takes the hiker from near the banks of the Colorado River up to a sandy plain and then over slick rock slopes to reach the Bowtie and Corona Arches. Elevation gain is 440 ft. The many alcoves that decorate the walls along the length of the trail add to the beauty of the area. From the base of Corona Arch, railroad tracks can be seen several hundred feet below at the bottom of the Bootlegger canyon. taken from Summitpost.org
  • Notes: This highline takes a long time to rig. Make sure you allow a lot of time for setup. There are 5 bolts on the top of the arch and there is an exposed scramble that will take you to the top. Have fun! This is a beautiful place.
  • GPS Longitude: 109.61997

Very colorful capture David! I agree, it's a great place to visit/photograph. It's a shame that the "middle bridge" gave way. Would have been neat to work with the entire area. Still a fabulous...
