Morning Monoliths

  • Title: Morning Monoliths
  • State/Province/Region: Utah
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: SB 128
  • Nearest Town: Moab
  • Brief Directions: Take main roadway through Arches National Park and turn right at the sign for "The Windows". Take this till the end and park, and hike about 1/2 mile past the Turret Arch.
  • Notes: An assortment of small eroded sandstone monoliths just after sunrise in Arches National Park. This grouping caught my eye as I was leaving the park one morning. I noticed the misty clouds in the sky and quickly pulled the car over and hurried to a spot I liked to make this capture. This is an HDR blend of two exposures, to try and bring out more detail in the foreground.

Thank you very much, Lorenzo! I was pretty happy to see those clouds coming in from the west as I was quickly setting up pre-sunset to get this side of the lighthouse. Thank you! --Jim--
