Seedling

  • Title: Seedling
  • State/Province/Region: Utah
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Town: Salt Lake
  • Brief Directions: Depends on what part you want to go to. This photo was taken near Saltair (an interesting building in itself, used as a venue for concerts), which is about 10 miles West of the SLC International Airport. Other points of interest would be the 2 largest islands on the Great Salt Lake, Stansbury Island (2nd largest) is another 15 miles west on I-80, or Antelope Island (the largest) which is about 45 minutes North, on I-15 in Syracuse. There is also Promontory point, a bit further North.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Description: Great Salt Lake is full of beauty for those willing to look for it. The lake is a large, salt saturated body of water, which leaves salt deposits on the abandoned piers, posts, and fences that were left around when it was a popular swimming area.
  • Gear: Sandles or boots, camera, tripod, bug repellent
