  • Notes: Best in spring for volume of water. Best if fall for color.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: A day use area in Botetourt County, VA in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Includes a short hike to a 19th-century iron furnace and a moderate hike to a pretty, 35-feet waterfall.

    Very nice set of "Arches" Stephen. Wasn't sure, but thought someone said one of the famous landmarks fell? Really enjoyed the "Double Windows" when there!

    That moose is a "spike" i.e. a very young juvenile, probably on his first year away from mom. His antler's will fill out further in the next few years.

    Very interesting post Donna and Mike on Moose/Antlers. Not sure what may have caused the change in antlers, but pretty sure the one will end up looking like one of these in a few years.
