Brief Directions: Photo was taken at the scenic overlook at Palouse Falls State Park
Notes: A group of my photography friends and I intended to spend the early morning hours in late May 2014 photographing the stars & milky way using Palouse Falls for the foreground. However, when we got up out of our tents at 2:00 AM, the sky was completely overcast with not a single star visible in the early morning sky. We went back to bed and at around 6:00 AM we got up to find this beautiful sunrise with scattered cloud cover. I quickly set up my camera and capture a series of bracketed photos that I processed in Photoshop and Lightroom.
Best Season: Spring
Description: The first photo I submitted to OP had too much adjustment for luminance, causing the sun to look like a large splotch in the clouds that I just couldn't accept. I readjusted the luminance in Lightroom and made a few more highlight adjustments before settling on this final copy of the photo.
