Douglas Falls

  • Title: Douglas Falls
  • State/Province/Region: West Virginia
  • Country: United States
  • Nearest Area: Douglas Road
  • Nearest Town: Thomas, WV
  • Brief Directions: Take 219 into Thomas and then turn onto Douglas Road Douglas Road will fork, take the dirt road (unused gate and sign with hours at entrance) follow dirt road back, parallels the river. There is a small parking area, park here and walk the road about another 1/4 mile or so keeping the river to your left. You will find the falls easily.
  • Notes: This is a very powerful waterfall set in a nice serene setting. Several cascades lead up to the main event.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Camera of course. Picnic lunch would be ideal

Thank you Stephen Faulkner! Indeed, I was 'chuffed,' although I confess I had to Google the meaning of the word (!)

Thanks Lorenzo for the kind words on Oregon. I thought I'd share this shot also of Kauai. I know Laura is planning a trip there, so I tried to add some images for her to take a look at!
