I photographed this near the "fins" in Arches National Park this past spring. The fins were slightly painted with a light from a flashlight to bring out the red against the sky. I liked the way it looked like the rock formations were reaching up to the Milky Way.
I used my Nikon D610 and a Rokinon 24mm f1.4 lens. One image was used to light paint the rocks, and one image was used to expose for the night sky, and then both images were blended. The settings for both images was 6400 ISO, 24mm and 20 seconds.
