When I drove up to Rowdy Lake I immediately noticed that the water was calm and providing for some excellent reflections of the aspen trunks on the distant shore. Of course, as soon as a exited my vehicle the wind picked up and the reflection disappeared. In the meantime, I set up my tripod and started experimenting with a reflection centered composition. Since I had plenty of time I then decided to try a long exposure shot with a 10 stop ND filter. After the long exposure I noticed some blurriness in the bottom of my frame - the grasses along the near shore had been blowing and moving about, adding another abstract element to my scene. I re-composed to capitalize on this new element and created this image.
