Description

The Bobby Socks trees of Yellowstone in sunrise light in the fall. The Bobby Socks trees are dead Lodgepole Pines near hydrothermal areas and look as if they are wearing “bobby socks”. The dead trees soak up the mineral laden water and when the water evaporates, the minerals are left behind, turning the lower portion of trees white.
