Nikon F100, Nikkor 24mm 2.8, Gitzo tripod and remote shutter release. Fuji Velvia 50 slide film. 1/15th second at f8.
It was a crisp and clear late November morning; almost too clear to make an interesting photograph of El Capitan from the standard locations. So, I roamed the Yosemite Valley floor looking for an unusual view. The Merced River, with El Capitan reflected in its water, provided a very attractive perspective. I was carrying a film camera (in addition to my digital kit) and decided that Fuji Velvia 50 film would enhance the painting-like quality of the granite monolith and trees reflected in the Merced.
