Another photographer had told me not to miss the sunrise at Bryce Canyon, so I diverted my Utah trip to include a morning there. The first snow of the season had fallen overnight, and low clouds blocked out the sunlight. There were a ton of photographers there that morning, all lined up on the rim, waiting to see what the light would do. As they all began to lament that there wouldn't be any spectacular colors that morning I decided to hike down the trail from Sunset Point. When I got to the point where Thor's Hammer was right in front of me I had to stop and take a shot.
