I arrived at Jökulsárlón early in the evening in June and explored around both shores. At that time of the year, it never gets dark. Some days of my trip I never saw the sun, but it showed itself that day. On the east side, the more popular side, some people had set up chairs and tables, like they were waiting for a fireworks show. What we got was even better. I put my chest waders on and headed north away from the crowds as the sky lit up, occasionally wondering out into the water to makes some images away from the shore. It's safe to say I got different images than anyone else that night as I was the only one that got into the frigid water. With the sun barely getting below the horizon, it gave off 3 1/2 hours of sunset light.
