High Shoals in Autumn

Between Hiawassee and Helen, Georgia, look for the sign for High Shoals Recreational Area. Follow that road up the mountain for a mile making on small creek crossing. 4-Wheel drive is not required but there is limited parking for low profile cars.

Autumn is the best time to see this waterfall if you want color. Spring is the best time to see it if you want the most water flow. There are black bear in the area, so be alert and do not under any circumstance feed them.

This is a beautiful little waterfall that can be found on an easy to moderate 3 mile round trip hike, along with another one called the Blue Hole Waterfall.
