This was my third attempt to capture an image of the La Jolla Tide Pools, at sunset. I was quickly realizing that having every element come together for this shot was not going to happen yet, even in this case, knowing I was shooting during a less exciting negative tide. However, the weather forecast suggested a chance of an interesting sunset. Due to the negative tide and lack of sea spray, I was able to set my tripod low and inches away from the closest rock pool. As I often do, I chose to shoot with a longer exposure. With color present in the sky, I like the effect even minimal cloud movement has to enhance light.
