Notes

When I photographed this Snowshoe Hare it was almost dusk. That is when it started to get active. It gave a big yawn just before it ventured out to eat.

Description

Snowshoe Hares are one of my favorite animals to photograph during the winter months in Colorado’s high country. I snowshoe approximately 3 to 5 miles each outing to hopefully come across one. Tracking and finding them is always challenging; and if I do find one it may or may not be a photo opportunity. The weather conditions many times can be harsh with high winds, heavy snow and extremely cold temperatures.
