Springtime Sunset

Near Cedar Rapids

This windmill is close enough to my home that I can run out at sunset if the clouds look interesting. On that night, I was hoping that the sun would break through the clouds so that I could place the orb behind the windmill. However, the heavy clouds and blown contrails made for an even better shot.

Twice each year (and only for a couple of weeks), the sun sets behind this windmill on the horizon. I try to make it out to the site when the clouds may make for an interesting sunset. On this night, the sun didn't peek through, but I wasn't disappointed.
