Lenticular at Sunset
This Lenticular cloud was hanging here all afternoon, I was watching it from in town and was hesitation to make the 30 mile drive to get under it.
Finally as evening came I decided to go for it. I was headed for Bethel Ridge another 10 miles west but realized the light would be gone before I made it so I turned off on a forest service road and headed up hill, not knowing if I would get the vantage point I needed.
As I crested the hill the trees opened up and here was the shot. The wind was blowing about 40mph so I setup on the downwind side of my truck to shoot.
This is one of several panoramas I shot, each none having a very different feel.
The shot was taken with a Pentax K-1 and a Pentax 15-30mm lens. I used Adobe Lightroom to stitch 7 vertical images.
