Description

After flamingos, Black-necked Stilts (Himantopus mexicanus) have longer legs, proportionally, than any other bird. This little one was foraging in the shallow waters of the San Elijo Lagoon. It was a bright, but overcast, day which eliminated much of the color from the shallow water in the lagoon. I further desaturated the water in Adobe Lightroom to provide a greater contrast with the black and white bird and its colorful legs.
