Lake Cavell Reflection
About 30 mile south of Jasper Village
Canon EOS 5Dlll, F/11, 1/13 of a second, ISO 200. MeFoto travel tripod.
This little gem is the perfect distance from Jasper that we can shoot a sunrise at Pyramid Lake first and still have time to make it to Lake Cavell in time to capture the reflection of Mount Edith Cavell in its waters before the daily mountain breeze arrives. Of course you have to hurry.
It was rather frantically funny as my friend Jim Osterhout and I exuberant rushed through the woods yelling; "hey bear, hey bear' like a couple of twenty somethings, then on our way out after our photo victory, decrepitly feeling our age.
I love it when I find a lake in reflection where I can still capture the rocks below the surface as well as the reflection above.
