Description

Taken from Clingmans Dome in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I went to this viewpoint during a cold, early spring sunset to try to capture the receding ridge lines in a more abstract way. This scene reminds me of and the capture is influenced by traditional Chinese landscape paintings, in which mountain ridges are layered one behind another to help create the illusion of depth.
